Health Transparency & Truth is Winning!
Healthy seeds were planted, and major momentum is bringing positive change, at last.
Seemingly all at once now, there are several major headline stories around health playing out: removing fluoride from drinking water; removing petroleum-based synthetic dies from our food supply (as they have for other countries); new efforts to ban roundup and another 84 farming chemicals that are already banned in other countries; and a deep investigation into the potential environmental causes of skyrocketing autism. Geo-engineering is also being publicly questioned.
What all of these stories have in common, is a real and tangible effort to clean up what makes its way into our bodies. No matter what your political persuasion (or non-persuasion!), I would hope we can all agree to at least this most basic premise: that we want our children to have the best odds of growing up in a clean and healthy environment, with safe air, water, food, and medicines. Arguments about how to bring this about have completely paralyzed progress on these critical issues. Some people are upset about the way the new investigations and changes are finally unfolding now. I believe it’s happening the only way it ever can - with bold, decisive action that strips the corporate giants of their ability to maintain their decades-long strangle-hold, which has enabled them to profit grossly while millions of Americans are unwittingly harmed by their toxic and poorly tested products.
Incredibly, some of these corporate powers are now asking to be granted the same indemnity (no liability) the vaccine manufacturers were granted in 1986. The idea is that the chemicals and other toxins in their products cannot be expected to do no harm, and since industry, government and consumers continue to want the products, the manufacturers do not want to be held liable for any harms that come with them.
I think it is very unfortunate that all of these issues have become so politically divisive. People who ‘hate’ the current president and are therefore suspicious of his entire administration, or who gain financially from the success of big pharma or big agriculture, are quite literally attempting to obstruct the progress of making the world a healthier, more wholesome place to raise our precious children. Truthfully, one important arm of progress is that we consumers need to vote with our dollars, and demand safer products. Fear-porn propaganda has unfortunately disempowered a lot of people - they are afraid to let go of the toxic ‘medicines,’ even as those same toxic medicines are harming them.
I am forever GRATEFUL to the individuals in positions of power who have demonstrated the raw courage to stand up to the filthy rich and falsely powerful corporations, and to the controlled obstructionists in congress and other political offices. I am grateful to these individuals who have shown the courage to carry on with this essential legacy work no matter what the cost to their own reputation, finances, or personal safety. I also think it is hopeful - however messy - to witness the opening up of long-suppressed conversations around fluoride, food and air toxins, and vaccine harms. It is now finally okay to publicly question the status quo in these arenas, and to demand real transparency, real science, solutions, and accountability. Doing so may still bring a rain of criticism and ridicule, but we who question now know we have massive support standing with us.
The debates online are hot and heavy, but at least people are talking about these things! FINALLY. I am truly hopeful that before my next grand-babies are born, the momentum will have reached a crescendo, and many long-awaited truths about the many chronic chemical exposures will be fully recognized in the mainstream. I believe the public will be outraged to learn the extent of the poisoning, and the extent to which it has been knowingly allowed to continue, unabated.
Personally, I have done a great deal of research around these issues, and I have made choices for myself and my children accordingly. It has been extremely disturbing to me to watch the toxic exposures continue, with tragic outcomes becoming the norm and still so many people seemingly unable to connect the dots. Many people still cannot believe that their government, and safety regulators such as the FDA, would put profits before people, and cannot believe that these governing officials would lie about such essential things as what’s in our food and medicines. This must be a large factor (often unconscious) explaining why some people are expressing such resistance to the exposure of the hard truths, which will certainly rock many people’s worldview, radically.
I find it beautiful that it is an international coalition of mothers who have been at the helm of raising awareness to the level of new legislation and better research. RFK Jr. is their political spokesperson right now, but these brave, tireless, and relentlessly organized moms get the credit for bringing these issues into the spotlight, and forcing radical actions at the corporate and governmental level. Many of these mothers have children who have suffered serious environmental damages. There may be no force more powerful than a group of mothers fighting fiercely for the children they love.
MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) is a grass-roots movement independent of any political administration. It has a strong momentum of its own. Interestingly, this movement originated primarily from the left, but now crosses the blurry party lines readily, and welcomes moms and supporters from all walks of life. MAHA is about making sure that kids have a chance to grow up healthy.

Well said, Ellen - It's bizarre how the so-called left is now against health and against paper ballots and against investigating corruption in government, media, and corporations - but as you say, the good news is that there are enough of us pushing for truth and the protection of our basic rights, so progress is being made. Less divisiveness, more awareness and compassion, as you say!
Thanks for writing this Ellen! I, like you, am glad we’re finally talking about some of these things and they’re being brought out into the open—the things that stay behind closed doors worry me, as do questions getting dismissed with derision as if there is no merit to any contrary opinion.
